Overall, MofonGo is recognized as a great choice for celebrating special occasions or enjoying a flavorful, authentic Puerto Rican meal in a warm and vibrant setting.
I stumbled onto this spot and I was not disappointed by what I found!! First off the atmosphere give you that backyard island vibe.. the ambiance is that of a tropical paradise...when you fist open the door your greeted by the music, immediately you want to start dancing .. then you go downstairs to this softly lit basement restaurant.. the food smells amazing, and you are greeted by what looks to be a father and daughter owner...very beautiful young lady by the way. But everything is clean, food looks well prepared and your order is taken right away. Prices are a bit high for the portions but I can tell the food is cooked with all that Latin love...I'd definitely recommend this establishment for that back home latin flavor... thanks Mofongo. This is a hidden gem in the neighborhood and if you blink you'll miss out...
Wanted leftovers, so I ordered the Overlord and was not disappointed. The food is excellent and I still have at least one more meal. Also got a serving of the alcapurria and was not disappointed. Restaurant seating is downstairs. Older facility (older, but not 'dirty') and did not have internet service/signal down there (Verizon). Service was decent. Definitely recommend for the food!
Food was phenomenal. I got the mofongo with the adobe chicken, chimichurri sauce and pico de gallo. Flavor was awesome throughout, amazing blend of seasonings, and everything was perfectly cooked. I haven’t had good mofongo since a trip to Puerto Rico in 2010. I’ll definitely come again.
I loved the place and the delicious food. It's perfect for sharing a special occasion with family. I will definitely go back.
I have to disagree wholeheartedly with some of the reviews saying the food was salty- at least in my experience the food was magnificent! The food had the perfect blend of flavors/textures and was accurate to the way these dishes are prepared in Puerto Rico. I had the Mofongo with Chicharrones and my husband had the Mofongo with steak (not the traditional churrasco steak but still delicious). Would highly recommend!! Sincerely, Una boricua buscando sazon puertorriqueno en CT.
I’ve recently tried Mofongo twice and the second time was just as good as the first! I’ve had the adobo chicken mofongo and the shrimp mofongo which so far is my favorite! So flavorful and not salty as some of the other reviews had stated (because I was skeptical! Lol) the entire atmosphere brings me back to being in PR Definitely recommend and eager to try more of their food.
Alcapurias were to die for . The flavor was on point . I wish it was a little bigger but it did come with two . The portions could’ve been better but overall I had rice with gandules, pernil , sweet plantains , tostones, white rice and chicken chunks . Flavor was on point . I’ll come back again .
Si puedes, DEBES! Este review is in Spanglish! From the atmosphere, to the service, to the food, this was a great find. La comida es autentica y deliciosa. La porciones estaban perfecta. I think this is a good family spot, not too expensive but just right for the fam! Come check it out.
